With more than forty years of experience, he has dedicated his career to advancing healthcare, manual therapy, and professional education. He holds a graduate degree in Life Science with a concentration in Anatomy and a postgraduate degree in Naprapathy. This academic foundation supports his evidence-informed approach to understanding human structure and function. Throughout his career, he has combined clinical practice, anatomical expertise, and educational innovation to help shape the next generation of massage therapists and healthcare practitioners.

A significant focus of Ed’s clinical work includes geriatric massage and the care of older adults, where he emphasizes safety, adaptability, and the therapeutic value of touch across the aging process. Ed is the Founder, President, and Co-Owner of Arbor College – School of Massage in Knoxville, Tennessee. Under his leadership, Arbor College has become one of the region’s most respected massage therapy education programs. His influence extends beyond the classroom through his service as a former Chair of the Tennessee Massage Licensure Board, a former President of the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards, and a former Commissioner for COMTA, the national accrediting agency for massage and bodywork education. In each of these roles, he has been a consistent advocate for public protection, professional integrity, and high educational standards.

Beyond his work in healthcare and regulation, Ed is a master storyteller and the creative force behind The Ravens Vail Podcast and The Cracked Cauldron Podcast. He guides the concept development, writing, and narrative direction for both series.
